i dont think meg ryan's character did a decent job of describing how a Pear tastes to nicholas cage in "city of angels" (i decided to go for quotes this time). she said something to the extent of it tasting like "mealy sandy sugar that dissolves in your mouth". I think its much more rounded than that. I think the pear feels like the sugar has already begun to dissolve on your tongue. and the flavor is so much more complex than sugar. have you ever tasted a spoonful of sugar, meg? what did it taste like? yeah. sugar. just plain sugar. have you ever eaten carmel though? carmel, meg? carmel is complex sugar, practically nurtured and cultivated into its complexity. the sugar in a Pear is so much richer and more subtle than just sugar. when i was in paris, peter ordered a burger made with horse meat, and i had a bite. it tasted just like beef, only a little gamier. thats kind of the comparison i would make of a pear to an apple, but only in the fruit sense. hehe. only in the fruit sense. i need to put that phrase to every day use. ANYWAY, i would say a pear tastes like a gamier (if you will) version of an apple, with a gentler back-of-the-tongue complexsweetnes to it. eat your heart out nick cage.
great subtle chord progression right here...

what is this beautiful beautiful woman settling for

-ani difranco, 1:35 into "Fixing her Hair"
(i cant decide if i like it better with or without quotes)

i just thought about piling into the back seat of a taxi cab over chamber choir tour. there were 6 of us, i think. what laughter.

i like my blue eyes. i look like a little girl.
oh how hard we try to be disinterested. i wish i were hiding under parco's bed. i feel like that would be a safe place to be. i wish kevin would come home from skiing. i still have laura's eye-pencil.

i want it to pour buckets. now? please?

im going out to dinner with mom and connie, and then off to murial's wedding, if indeed that is how you spell it. fabulous flick. please use both hands. rice pudding, if you will.
